Drake is releasing a new project called More Life this December. He is not calling it an album or mixtape, but he’s referring to it as a playlist. The project was announced on Beats 1 OVO Sound Radio episode 32. It is supposed to feature all original music, with features from Drake’s OVO signees.
The idea of a new project was announced by Drake himself during the Tacoma stop of his Summer Sixteen tour with Future. In between songs he said “I’ve been on this tour, I’m recording new music. I’m about like maybe 6, 7 new songs in, just getting warmed up.”
On episode 32 of OVO Sound Radio, 3 new singles off of the project premiered and then were released to Apple Music and Spotify. The single, Fake Love, peaked at number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The other two songs released were Sneakin’ feat. 21 Savage and Two Birds, One Stone. Drake has hinted at another song, Virginia Black, Take Me Be, on his Instagram but no other information has come out at this time.
There are speculations that not all songs will feature Drake, because he is referring to it as a playlist. Drake said “You might hear some tunes from the family on there” referring to his October’s Very Own label. Features from the OVO family might include Party Next Door, Roy Woods, Majid Jordan, or DVSN.
The project was speculated to release on December 3, but that theory was debunked by Drake on his Instagram. As of now, there is no confirmed release date.
