This year the Gene Harris Jazz festival is having it’s 20th Anniversary. The Gene Harris Jazz festival was created due to an American Pianist named Gene Harris. A former Boise musician that played jazz, blues, and soul jazz. Each year Boise State hosts the Gene Harris Jazz Festival bringing the best music to the Boise community. They have a goal of inspiring, educating, and entertaining the listeners of all ages. The event will be put on April 5-7, Wednesday-Friday 2017. Mostly starting at 7 o clock in the morning to 10 o clock at night. Tickets can be purchased on Boise Sate university’s website. Tickets for the kick off on April 5 cost 12 dollars.
Many artists will be coming and performing there. Some of these artists are: Tony Manaco trio, The Gene Harris Superband, The Boise State Jazz Ensemble, Todd Strait, and many more. The College of Idaho’s vocal jazz ensemble will also be performing there. The College of Idaho’s vocal jazz ensemble allowed students from both Liberty and Victory to participate in their jazz ensemble. They will also be performing at the Gene Harris Jazz festival. Performances will be held with some starting as early as 7 o clock A.M. to as late as 10:30 P.M. More than twelve hours of fun for family and friends to attend. The college of Idaho group will be performing somewhere between 3-4 o clock on April 6.
Everyone should go watch and support all performers especially the College of Idaho vocal Jazz ensemble that includes high school students from both Liberty and Victory. As a result, the Gene Harris Jazz Festival would be a great place for family and friends to go see live artists perform with the goal to inspire and educate each and every person.
