A March for LIFE

Once a year, men and women of all ages make their way over to Washington D.C. to march for life, ‘life’ meaning the 57.5 million, and counting, babies who have lost their life due to abortion since 1973. Abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. In other words, it is killing the baby of the mother while still being in her womb. This definition says “during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy,” and many people believe that because the baby is still in the womb at this time, it is not considered killing a human being. But, during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, the baby has already formed arms, legs, eyes (that can now open and close), is starting to hear. The baby already has a brain. that is now starting to develop neurons. It is developing into a complex organ. Now that you have some background information on what exactly abortion is, you may realize now why thousands of people march at this event each year.

Planned Parenthood started in 1916, by Margaret Sanger. Originally, it was meant for birth control purposes, but 1933 is when they started to give these abortions to women. The men and women who march for life would like to end Planned Parenthood all together, thus stopping the abortions in the United States. The March For Life event occurs every year in the end of January because January 22, 1973, is when the supreme court legalized abortion throughout the United States. They march in Washington D.C because they want to get the legislators attention. Many people will purchase signs that represent the cause. This march has not yet gotten violent over the years because their goal is to end violent acts such as abortion, and not cause more.

You may be wondering now, how can I help, where do I sign up, and I encourage you to donate or even march in January. If you would like to march, the next one is January 19, 2018 in Washington D.C., and you can sign up at marchforlife.org, where they will also give you any further information that you may be wondering about. Now, if you would like to donate, you will also want to go to marchforlife.org. Take action, and give a voice to the millions of lives who couldn’t speak to save their self.
