There are a few players who the NBA is looking at for the MVP award one of them being Kyrie Irving because of his recent performance dropping 50 points in his first game with zero turnovers. 222 points, 43 rebounds, and 54 assists in a total 7 games. These stats have been put up by very very few people in the history of the NBA. Last year in the 2018-2019 MVP race Kyrie was in that one also.
The leading player in the race right now is Giannis Antetokounmpo playing as a forward for the Milwaukee Bucks. He is getting around 29 points per game, 14.3 reb per game, and 7.6 Avg assists. Giannis won by a lot of votes last year it was 100+ votes he won by last year. This year he is again favored for MVP again more than anybody else in the league.
Stephen Curry with 20.3 points per game(ppg), 5 reb per game(rpg), and 6.5 Assists per game(apg). He is playing as a guard for the Golden State Warriors and is currently out with a hand injury. But he is still next up behind Antetokounmpo and may steal the award from him but only time will tell.
Devin Booker is the underdog in this race just starting his second year in the league and who got the rookie of the year award in the 2018-2019 season. He also was the winner of the three point contest last season as a rookie. He is currently scoring 25.6 ppg, 3.5 rbg, and 5.0 apg. For his second year in the league hes putting up some good numbers for a player with as much experience in the league as he does.
James Harden the runner-up for the MVP award in the 2018-19 season. He has 36.5 ppg, 5.0 rebounds per game, and 8.1 assists per game. He is a guard for the Houston rockets. He is up there in the race currently but is not favored to win. Last year he was the only player to put up a 60 point triple double in a single game playing for the Houston rockets and helped the rockets make it into the finals. But overall currently if anyone is going to win MVP it will be Giannis, Kyrie, or Booker, and Curry if he wasn’t injured only time will tell who will win the MVP race for the 2019-2020 NBA season.
